Master of Arts in Theology

Currently accepting applications for Fall 2011.

The Master of Arts in Theology (MA) program is rooted in Catholic and Franciscan tradition while providing a solid theological grounding for individuals coming from a variety of Christian traditions.  The degree meets the demand for theological preparation especially for those individuals active in religious education, lay ministry and youth ministry.

The MA in Theology is a thirty-six credit hour program consisting of eleven courses and a capstone seminar focusing on the study of biblical, historical, moral, and systematic theology.  Students are encouraged to develop strong research and critical thinking skills as well as an integrated theological vision.

The degree provides the foundation necessary for continued study toward a doctoral degree and to be a theological resource for others.
