Assistant Project Leader

Lourdes College, a private institution of higher education offering bachelor and graduate degrees in the liberal arts and professional studies, invites applicants for the position of Assistant Project Leader.  This is a full-time, twelve month, exempt position. 

This position will coordinate the planning, implementing, supporting, and training of education and business software applications.  It will actively participate in hands-on projects and/or special assignments with end-users by observing their various department operations, functions, responsibilities, and work flow.  Act as the liaison between the various departments and the Administrative Systems project team to deliver solutions.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ability to pickup new and implement new projects and sufficiently train end-users on their use.
  • Works with the end-user to help define their system needs. 
  • Assists the Director of Administration Systems in managing projects and performing other duties.
  • Assists in the establishment and enforcement of system standards and procedures for designing, programming, testing, and implementing systems.
  • Attend development seminars and apply training in work assignments.
  • Assists the portal team in defining and deploying portlets; understands the relationship between SunGard SCT Banner and the portal.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree required in business related field or associate’s degree with 5 years related experience.
  • Very strong customer service background and organizational skills.
  • Detail oriented nature with ability to see projects through; from vision to implementation.
  • Proficient Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, Access, and PowerPoint).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to train others.
  • Ability to deal with multiple deadlines in a shifting operational environment.
  • Hours may require flexibility for special projects.
  • Basic understanding of programming languages (sql, html, css, xml, java script).
