Dr. Janet H. Robinson became Interim President of Lourdes University on July 1, 2012, having served as Vice President for Academic Affairs (2005-2011) and Provost (2011-2012). She has a wealth of higher education experience, including 20 years in administration.
A native of Detroit, MI, Dr. Robinson joined the Lourdes faculty as an Associate Professor in 1992, and has held the positions of Associate Director of Curriculum and Instruction (1994-1997), Associate Professor (1992-1997), and Professor of Nursing (1997, 2005-2013).
She holds a B.S.N. degree from Mercy College of Detroit, and an M.S.N. and Ph.D. from Wayne State University. Prior to her return to Lourdes, she served as Associate Dean of the Nursing Graduate Program, Director of Advanced Practice Nursing Programs, Chair of Primary Care Nursing Department, and tenured Professor at the Medical College of Ohio. In recognition of her achievements at MCO, she was awarded the Prism Award for Teaching Excellence in 1999, 2001, and 2002.
Most recently, she has been chosen to receive the 2013 YWCA Milestones Award for Education.
Dr. Robinson serves on the Board of Trustees for Hospice of Northwest Ohio. Residents of Sylvania, she and her husband Gene have three children and five grandchildren.
