North Carolina - March 6

Our third day on the work site was a cold, blustery one. Some of us dropped electrical, while others roofed another local Habitat home. Windows and doors were installed while the electrical was run throughout the rafters. The exterior of the house was sheathed in preparation for the vinyl siding which will be a project we’ll start tomorrow.

After our workday we were invited to a congregation dinner at St. Andrews church. We learned that the wind gusts that we endured while working on the roof were only fifteen knots less than hurricane standards.

Back at the Cameron Center we had a group reflection where we discussed how things had been going at the worksite for each of us. Things seem to be going very well and everyone is enjoying him or herself and learning a lot. We started filming our music video for a lip sync music video contest that LEAP is hosting. We called it a night and look forward to what tomorrow and Friday bring. Everyone is looking forward to the Haunted Ghost walk, which we’ll be participating in tomorrow and spending time at the beach on Friday.

    • Wow! You just aren't afraid to try new things. Wind gusts and roofs? And you all got back to solid ground. Glad to see you blending work with fun. I can't wait to see this video ... and all of you when you get back. I'm sure the stories will continue to multiply. I didn't know haunted ghosts walked. I thought they floated. Take care. Enjoy these shared adventures. Sister Ann Carmen
