Our third day on the site was successful as usual. Luckily there was a nice breeze to help keep us cool from the 83 degree temperature throughout the day. We were split up into different groups to perform different tasks. A group of us finished painting the exterior of the houses; a group started siding some of the houses; and several people finished securing the roof panels.

We can't believe we only have one more day on the site. We have all become such close friends in such a short amount of time. Being stuck in a van for 18+ hours and working hard together on the site has made us practically family. We have also had the unique experience of working with groups from different areas around the country. We have been able to share our backgrounds with others along with learning about their cultures.

Sharing the campsite with the other groups has been quite the experience. The camp is absolutely gorgeous! Every day we are able to take part in kayaking, swimming, canoeing, camp fires, cooking, basketball, and spending time to get to know each other. We are able to share a meal every day while Laurie leads us in a group discussion about the day's events.

Truly this has been a great opportunity to grow and learn what it means to be a community. By building this neighborhood of houses we have been able to understand and spread the Franciscan mission that is the Lourdes College community.
