The Lourdes University Choirs Celebrate 31 Years!

The Lourdes University Choral program under the direction of Karen T. Biscay is celebrating its 31st concert season, and is still welcoming new members and chorus alumni to the Lourdes University Chorus for the remainder of the 2014–2015 academic year.

2015 rehearsals begin on January 14 at 6 p.m. in the new Canticle Center, 5335 Silica Dr. (the former Sylvania Franciscan Academy building) part of the Lourdes extended Campus, in Sylvania, Ohio.  Chorus Alumni are encouraged to return to see our new home!

The Lourdes Chorus is open to community members as well as Lourdes students, faculty and staff. There is no scary audition—just a voice-section placement that is painless! Concerts on campus are planned for February 25 and May 3. The February 25 Celebration of Black History Month event includes guest choirs and the Alma Drum and Dance Ensemble. Our Chorus and Good Company Ensemble are performing a montage of songs from Motown, The Musical, which will be a lot of fun!  The Spring Concert on May 3 features choral favorites from the past 30 years--the Chorus helps to choose the music! An occasional off-campus out- reach concert adds to the variety: Evensong on April 1 at St. Lucas Lutheran Church in Toledo--a beautiful place to sing!

The Lourdes choirs have performed in Ohio, Michigan, Ontario, Canada, England and Hungary, singing in a wide variety of musical styles and collaborating with many other area choirs and instrumental ensembles.
