Accounting

Accounting is both a science and an art; however, accounting is firmly rooted within business as the common language throughout the world. As an accounting major, you will learn to analyze, summarize, record, and report key financial data that will prepare you for a successful career within the accounting field. After completing their undergraduate work, Lourdes alumni often pursue a graduate degree in business on their path to sit for the CPA exam. The Lourdes Accounting program has outstanding faculty who possess real-world experience, from working in public accounting's Big Four firms to industry and government accounting.

This level of academic and professional excellence within our faculty has been recognized with the recent gift of the Larry and Kathy Ulrich Endowed Professorship in Accounting. Their commitment enables the College of Business & Leadership to continue placing a strong emphasis on educating business students to possess a high level of competency and integrity. Our business students are supported and encouraged to actively participate in professional experiences outside of the classroom as they prepare to become tomorrow's business leaders.

Lourdes students have gained professional accounting experience with the following College of Business & Leadership's internship partners: William-Vaughn; Weber-O'Brien; The VITA Program with the Internal Revenue Service
