Summer Reading Camp

The purpose of the Summer Reading Camp is to allow children in Grades 1-10 to work on literacy skills like fluency, phonics, vocabulary, comprehension and writing in a fun and engaging environment. Campers will spend 30 hours with University graduate and undergraduate students in activities that will focus on essential reading, writing, and motivation skills. All strategies will be developmentally appropriate. In addition, teen volunteers who plan to major in education will assist as well. The camp will be supervised by Lourdes University faculty and staff.

The camp will be held in the Franciscan Academy of Lourdes University on Silica Road from 9 to 11 a.m. Each camp will meet Monday through Thursday for three weeks. Cost is $225 per camper and includes assessment of each student's literacy skills, 30 hours of instruction, a camp T-shirt and backpack. Enrollment will be limited to 30 children per camp.

Choose from these two 12-day camps:

  • Camp 1: June 11-28 (Monday - Thursday)
  • Camp 2: July 9-26 (Monday - Thursday)
