Letter from the President

Interim President, Janet RobinsonFall semester is such an exciting time at Lourdes University! The grounds are beautifully decked out in fall color, the temperature is ideal and most importantly, we begin welcoming our new and returning students.

It is my hope and expectation that this semester is one that will be truly enjoyable and educational for your student. The faculty and staff have been busy during summer preparing great courses and campus life programs. Two of the most exciting are the addition of a service learning component in every academic major and the addition of the J session.

The J session will be offered in the first two weeks of January and is considered part of the traditional spring semester. This session offers a series of accelerated classes. Your student may wish to enroll in one of these courses for a variety of reasons.

  • Free up a busy spring schedule by taking a course early and in an accelerated fashion
  • Finish his/her degree in four years
  • Catch up on a needed course

I am happy to announce that the City of Sylvania has approved Lourdes’ mid-campus expansion proposal. Once completed, your student will be able to take advantage of the following resources.

  • Campus Ministry House
  • Beautifully landscaped and well-lit walking and bike pathway that connects our historic and residential campuses
  • Recreation complex

Please remind your student that registration for Spring 2013 classes begins on Monday, October 8.Throughout this semester, I encourage you to join us in a variety of activities and events.

As a parent, please know you are a valuable member of our Lourdes Community. You may access the Lourdes Parent Network at www.lourdes.edu/parents for helpful resources.

On behalf of the Lourdes Community, I look forward to continuing to support your student in achieving his or her educational goals.

Sincerely,
