Jamaica Experience Summer 2014

Offered May 27–June 4 2014, the Jamaica Experience allows 10 students to travel to Mandeville, Jamaica to live, work, study and play at St. John Bosco Boys’ Home. Bosco is residence, school and skill-training center to approximately 160 boys between the ages of 5-18.

During our time in Jamaica students will have the opportunity to interact with the boys in their school and work environment; learn about  Jamaican culture, customs and practices; and better understand Bosco’s response and sense of responsibility to court-ordered and displaced boys.

This is a technology-free experience; travellers may not bring phones, iPods or iPads.

The trip costs $1,100* and includes:

  • Ground transportation in Jamaica
  • Housing
  • Structured group excursion
  • Round-trip airfare
  • Meals while in Jamaica

*Estimated cost subject to change. Trip cost does not include passport. Current 2013 passport fees are ~$140 and take approximately 6 weeks from application to delivery.
