Admissions Requirements

Admission to Lourdes University is not simply about your GPA and test scores. It’s based on a broad range of criteria that emphasizes student talent both inside and outside of the classroom. The Lourdes student exhibits a strong sense of our Catholic and Franciscan values of community, learning, and reverence and service to others.

When reviewing undergraduate applications and making admissions decisions, the Lourdes University Admissions Team analyzes the following:

  • Quality and strength of high school curriculum
  • Grade point average
  • Demonstration of leadership and community service
  • Extracurricular activities
  • Test scores from either the SAT or ACT
  • Personal statement
  • One letter of recommendation

For direct from high school freshmen, the following high school curriculum is recommended:

  • English: Minimum of four units
  • Math (college preparatory): Minimum of three units
  • Science (with labs preferred): Minimum of two units
  • Social Studies: Minimum of two units
  • Foreign language: Minimum of two units
  • Academic Electives: Minimum of three units
