Lourdes is a participating institution in the Post-Secondary Options program, which allows qualified high school students to take college-level courses and receive both high school and college credit

High School Students

Post Secondary Options (Ohio Senate Bill 140)

High school students in grades 9-12 who meet the Lourdes criteria for Post-Secondary Options (PSO) enrollment are eligible to participate in the PSO Program. A student must first meet with his/her high school guidance counselor and follow the application procedure as outlined below.

High School Seniors

  1. Must have a cumulative G.P.A. of 3.00 or higher.
  2. Must have a minimum high school G.P.A. of 3.00 in the subject area being taken at Lourdes.

High School Juniors

  1. Must have a cumulative G.P.A. of 3.25 or higher.
  2. Must have a minimum high school G.P.A. of 3.00 in the subject area being taken at Lourdes.

High School Sophomores

  1. Must have a cumulative G.P.A. of 3.80 or higher.
  2. Must have a minimum high school G.P.A. of 3.00 in the subject area being taken at Lourdes.

High School Freshmen

  1. Must have a cumulative G.P.A. of 4.00 based on a 4.00 scale.
  2. Must provide a required letter of recommendation.
  3. Must have a required interview with the coordinator of the Post Secondary Option Program.

Exceptions to the above policy are at the discretion of the Provost.

Post-Secondary Enrollment Options (PSEO) Application Procedure

  • Begin the PSEO application process by contacting your high school guidance counselor.
  • Review the Requirements for PSEO (PDF)
  • Submit the completed forms below:
  • Send your official high school transcript to Lourdes. This can be done with the assistance of your high school guidance counselor.
  • Upon review of the required information, the applicant will receive an Admission Decision Letter. Post-Secondary Enrollment Option Students must maintain a 2.0 GPA. Failure to do so will result in a student being ineligible to register for one semester. Exceptions are at the discretion of the Vice President for Academic Affairs.
  • Once accepted to the PSEO Program at Lourdes, you may need to complete an online placement test, in which you will receive instructions via email and/or mail. ACT or SAT scores may be used in lieu of the placement test.
  • Your PSEO Advisor at Lourdes, along with your High School Guidance Counselor, can assist with selecting appropriate courses. Please review this list of suggested courses per grade level (PDF).
  • All non-public high school students must also complete a preliminary application form SF-PS-140NPP obtained from the high school. Upon acceptance, student participation is dependent on approved hours and availability of funds through the Ohio Department of Education. Contact your high school Guidance Office for application deadlines.
  • Students who wish to continue as a regular student after high school graduation are not required to submit another application, but must notify the Office of Admission and submit updated or final high school transcripts.

Admission Prior to High School Graduation
High school students in a college preparatory program who achieve reasonable success and have completed their sophomore year may be admitted to Lourdes. Students follow the same procedures and must meet the same criteria as post secondary option admission students. High school students must submit to the Office of Admissions a completed application along with the non-refundable fee, and official high school transcript.
