Lourdes is now approaching our third year with Residential Students. In the 2012-2013 academic year Lourdes Commons Student Housing will include four Residence Halls with capacity to house up to 288 students. As a result, Lourdes will have eight Residence Assistants (RA). Each RA will serve as a part-time, student staff member and will live in one of the residence halls in Lourdes Commons.

Enforcing University policies is an important role for an RA, however, we feel that the most important duties an RA carries out are to encourage and support students in their academic and personal growth as well as to act as a role model within their residential communities. The RA will work directly with student residents by fostering awareness, appreciation and development of skills needed to succeed in a diverse, global society. The RA will also work closely with other Residence Life staff to develop programs aimed at building a strong, close-knit community and assisting students in transitioning to college life and to living independently.

Recruitment for the 2012/2013 RA class will officially kick off at the January 24, 2012 on-campus Job Fair. Please stop by our table and pick up an application. Applications will also be available in the Residence Life Office in the Den as well as in the Admissions Office.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • At least one year experience living in a residence hall
  • Ability to work with a diverse student population.
  • Full time student enrolled in a degree granting program.
  • Minimum 2.5 cumulative G.P.A. at time of application.
  • Free of any Lourdes University Judicial Sanctions by February 17, 2012.
