Room Draw For Returning Students

This page only applies to current undergraduate students of Lourdes University. If you are an incoming first-year or transfer student, please submit a housing application. If you are a graduate or non-traditional student, you will receive information concerning renewing your lease in the next few weeks.

Welcome to the room draw policy for the 2014/2015 school year. Our philosophy is to give first choice on housing preference to those returning students who have achieved academically and set a positive example as community members. We also seek to reward those students who have progressed academically towards graduation.

To be eligible to participate in Room Draw for the 2014/2015 school year the following items must be true:

  1. Registered for at least 12 hours for the fall 2014 semester
  2. Not have a financial hold on your student account
  3. Not have a conduct hold on your account or a current Community Standards case in progress
  4. A housing application for 2014/2015 must be completed and submitted along with your $100.00 housing deposit

Once the room draw process begins, students will be assigned to their choice of housing based upon the following priority:

  1. Students who have earned at least 84 credit hours
    • In a case of more than one student requesting the same apartment who has earned at least 84 credit hours, preference will be given to the student with the most total hours earned
    • In a case of two students with the same amount of hours requesting the same apartment, preference will be given to the student who has earned the highest grade point average then number of hours earned at Lourdes
  2. Students who have earned at least 56 credit hours
    • In a case of more than one student requesting the same apartment who has earned at least 56 credit hours, preference will be given to the student with the most total hours earned
    • In a case of two students with the same amount of hours requesting the same apartment, preference will be given to the student who has earned the highest grade point average then number of hours earned at Lourdes
  3. All other current residential and enrolled Lourdes Students

  4. Students who have earned at least 28 credit hours
    • In a case of more than one student requesting the same apartment who has earned at least 28 credit hours, preference will be given to the student with the most total hours earned

A few things to keep in mind for the 2014-2015 academic year.

  • You may only request rooms in Ambrose, Rosaria, 4821 Bonaventure, & Emmanuel Halls
  • Because we are not opening any new residence halls this fall, we cannot guarantee any single bedrooms or apartments other than the small bedrooms in the two-bedroom units, even if you wish to pay extra
  • If you do not request a roommate or roommates, we may select them for you
  • Consider carefully who you pick as a roommate as it may not be easy to switch rooms after the falls semester begins because we plan to be at or near capacity

Notes on summer housing

  • If you plan to stay for the summer, you may only reside in Rosaria and Emmanuel Halls
  • We will not be assigning single rooms for summer, so summer housing students should all plan on having roommates
  • You must send an email to Reslife@lourdes.edu no later than May 9, 2014 stating your intent to do so

To start your Room Draw process you will need to follow these steps:

    1. Deadline for Room Draw emails is April 14, 2014
    2. Email should list Room Draw on the subject line
    3. If you have a preferred roommate(s), their name(s) should be listed in the email
    4. Your roommate(s) need(s) to submit an email also
    5. Be specific, list building name & apartment number for both first, second, & third choices
