The mission of the Biology and Environmental Science Student Association is to foster a better understanding of, and to raise awareness of, environmental concerns on campus and to support the Lourdes University mission of reverence, service, and learning. BESSA will support fellow biology and environmental science students, raise awareness of careers in both fields. BESSA will support participation in recycling programs both on and off campus, and will encourage the dissemination of information relating to, but not limited to, community sustainability, air and water pollution issues, environmental justice, and the protection of ecosystems. We also hope to encourage interest in environmental issues, and educate about a variety of areas of biological sciences in the community at large.
