Joe EspositoJoseph Esposito

Hometown: Toledo, OH
Major: Accounting & Finance

Extra-curricular activities:

  • President, Student Government Association (SGA)
  • Member, Lourdes Gray Wolves baseball team
  • Member, Admissions Ambassadors student organization
  • Student Worker in the Admissions Office

A future accountant who also wants to coach baseball, Joe is grateful for the leadership opportunities he has been given as a Lourdes student. In addition to the accounting skills and knowledge he has gained in the classroom, Joe adds, "The things I have learned outside of the classroom are what really prepared me for the future. I have had the opportunity to build relationships with both peers and area professionals giving me the chance to network both among friends and in the community."

He credits the Franciscan values of learning, reverence, and service that is part of the Lourdes Community for inspiring him to "be someone who lives for others." Appreciative of the Lourdes scholarship he was awarded, Joe says he is able to pursue his college education at the institution that is the best fit for him.

"As a transfer student from a huge university, I have already tried the bigger school, smaller price option, and while it was more comfortable financially, it simply was not the place where I could thrive and be the best I could be."

His average day on campus includes attending class, lots of homework, working in the admissions office and the SGA office, baseball practice, participating in various student organizations and activities, and when time permits, playing his guitar or getting together with friends for a game of ping-pong.
