A recipient of the Presidential scholarship, Sara is kept busy with her nursing studies and her many extra-curricular on-campus activities. For LEAP, she works 19 hours a week planning and coordinating events on and off campus for Lourdes students. "This job allows me to work directly with students to promote healthy relationships and help students get involved."

Why does she stay so busy? "Life is all about balance. What you take, you have to give back; and what you give to someone else is theirs for the taking. My experience at Lourdes University has been life-changing, and I would not change anything for the world."

Extremely grateful for her scholarship, Sara adds, "My life has changed by going to college. I am more responsible, dedicated, and I feel I have a purpose in life. I feel like I make a difference by attending Lourdes every day, big or small. I now understand the true value of money and what it has to offer someone struggling and trying to pay for college."

After her degree, Sara hopes to pursue a master's degree in nursing education. "My parents are both teachers, and like them, I enjoy leading individuals and helping them reach their potential."
