Lourdes University submitted 50 grant requests totaling $3,658,105 during the 2011-2012 fiscal year. The University received award notices for 24 grants totaling $2,452,195. Lourdes University has approximately 33 active grant awards including 10 Faculty Scholarship/Research grants. A few of the larger awards include the following projects and programs:
We received a five-year competitive award in 2010-2011 to continue the TRiO Student Support Services, which helps students from disadvantaged backgrounds graduate from college and find careers or attend graduate or professional school.
Provides stipends and scholarships to undergraduate nursing students who come from disadvantaged backgrounds and have unmet financial aid needs.
Upward Bound aids high school students from disadvantaged backgrounds to prepare for successful entry into post-secondary school. In 2011-12, we received a new five-year award in a very competitive grant cycle.
Lourdes was fortunate to receive a five year, $2,000,000 Title III award from the U.S. Department of Education in 2010-2011, which supports student retention and graduation efforts by improving and expanding the University’s resources in career services, instructional design, faculty development and retention software.
The NEPQR project supports the transformation of the undergraduate nursing curriculum and an innovative partnership with ProMedica to integrate quality and safety competencies into coursework and clinical experiences.
ANE supports the expansion of the RN to MSN admission option for nurses who wish to pursue a master’s degree through faculty, recruiting, advising and scholarship opportunities.
Scholarships and study abroad opportunities will be developed using this grant from the O-I Charities Foundation.
Students will benefit from this grant award from the Hearst Foundation.
This grant supports the purchase of laptops, printers and computers for student use in the WIN Center, Center for Professional Studies, the Library and the Flasck Nursing Center.
