A partnership between the Toledo-Lucas County Public Library (TLCPL) and Lourdes University is bringing a leisure reading collection to the school’s Duns Scotus Library. The collection, which consists of popular fiction and non-fiction books from authors such as Janet Evanovich, Phil Jackson, Stephen King, James Patterson, and Nora Roberts, is open to TLCPL library card holders and Lourdes University faculty, staff, and students.

Lourdes University’s Master of Business Administration (MBA) program will be holding an inaugural oath ceremony on Tuesday September 24 in the Franciscan Center at 7:30 p.m. Lourdes President David Livingston, PhD, will serve as keynote speaker.
On Sunday, October 13, the Lourdes University Department of Music will present its Fall Music Showcase at 3 p.m. in the Franciscan Center. Lourdes faculty, students, choirs, string quartet, oboe and a special guest presenter will perform three mini-concerts of 45 minutes each with a snack buffet in between performances.

Each year, on the first Friday in June, members of the Toledo-area community Hit the Links for Lourdes University students. Sponsored by MT Business Technologies/RICOH this year’s outing included 44 teams of golfers who raised more than $25,000.
Saturday, May 18, marks Lourdes University’s 2013 Baccalaureate and Commencement ceremonies. Baccalaureate will be held in the Queen of Peace Chapel on Lourdes’ campus at 10 a.m. Commencement will take place at the SeaGate Convention Centre located at 401 Jefferson Avenue, in downtown Toledo at 1 p.m.
Last Saturday, Lourdes’ Franciscan Theatre & Conference center was glowing with the more than 530 guests who came out to celebrate higher education and raise funds for student scholarships. Honorary Chairs Susan and Allan Block, and Lourdes Interim President Dr. Janet Robinson and husband Dr. Gene Robinson welcomed guests as they arrived.
This June, The National Association of Community and Restorative Justice will bring together faith leaders, educators, judges, politicians, policy makers, practitioners and community members to explore the use of restorative justice principles and practices in today’s world.
On Saturday, April 27, business leaders and members of the community will gather for Lourdes University’s signature fundraising event, Luminations. Allan and Susan Block will serve as Honorary Chairs for the event, which takes place in the Franciscan Center.
