Each year, on the first Friday in June, members of the Toledo-area community Hit the Links for Lourdes University students. Sponsored by MT Business Technologies/RICOH this year’s outing included 44 teams of golfers who raised more than $25,000.
Saturday, May 18, marks Lourdes University’s 2013 Baccalaureate and Commencement ceremonies. Baccalaureate will be held in the Queen of Peace Chapel on Lourdes’ campus at 10 a.m. Commencement will take place at the SeaGate Convention Centre located at 401 Jefferson Avenue, in downtown Toledo at 1 p.m.
Last Saturday, Lourdes’ Franciscan Theatre & Conference center was glowing with the more than 530 guests who came out to celebrate higher education and raise funds for student scholarships. Honorary Chairs Susan and Allan Block, and Lourdes Interim President Dr. Janet Robinson and husband Dr. Gene Robinson welcomed guests as they arrived.
This June, The National Association of Community and Restorative Justice will bring together faith leaders, educators, judges, politicians, policy makers, practitioners and community members to explore the use of restorative justice principles and practices in today’s world.

Fans of the pulp fiction and multimedia art will want to check out Lourdes University’s 2013 Sr. Jane Mary Sorosiak Lecture Series titled “Cover Stories”. The lecture will take place on Sunday, March 24, at 2 p.m. at the Franciscan Center. Guest lecturer is artist Thomas Allen.
The Lourdes University Department of Theological Studies is pleased to present its 2013 Ecumenical Lecture, “Full Communion Relationships: An Ecumenical Way Forward” on Sunday, February 24 at 3 p.m. The lecture, which will take place in the Franciscan Center, will be presented by the Reverend Dr. Marcus Carl Lohrmann, Bishop of The Evangelical Lutheran Church of America (ELCA), Northwest Ohio Synod.
