This spring, a group of 24 students and 2 professors in Lourdes University’s Master of Business Administration (MBA) will learn the language of global business firsthand through the program’s annual international immersion experience. Throughout the eight day trip which begins May 24, students will meet with and receive hands-on interaction with principals from the following businesses in China:

The group will also spend a portion of the immersion visiting significant historical and cultural sites such as the Mutianyu section of the Great Wall, Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City.

“The international immersions required as a standard part of our MBA program offer students an opportunity to experience a foreign country’s people, culture and business environment and to truly be a citizen of the world. Upon returning, many of our graduates say that their global immersion was one of the numerous highlights of their Lourdes MBA experience,” adds Ryan Butt, J.D., Dean of the College of Business & Leadership.

Previous MBA immersions at Lourdes have included visits to Sao Paulo, Brazil to study emerging economies and to London, England to study the business aspects of staging the 2012 London Olympics. International immersions (tentatively) planned for the 2014-2015 academic year include trips to Shanghai, China, and Johannesburg, South Africa. For more on Lourdes University’s MBA program visit
