An Excellent Private Liberal Arts Education
At Lourdes University, students experience the true essence of a personalized liberal arts education. Our dedicated professors encourage students to achieve their degree while pursuing their career and life’s goals. Grounded in the vision and ministry of the Sisters of St. Francis of Sylvania, Lourdes provides a respectful and inspiring environment in which to learn, teach, work and live.
A Franciscan education combines the essential liberal arts curriculum with a professional studies focus. This blend attracts a diverse community of learners who seek to better themselves through thought-provoking conversations and hands-on practical experiences. Lourdes faculty and students together explore not just the questions of the mind, but also those of the spirit. Lourdes respects and values a diverse body of students who are invited to reflect upon the enduring questions of life.
At the heart of the Lourdes university Franciscan tradition is a belief that learning must extend beyond the textbook into action benefiting the human family. Lourdes encourages each student to be mindful of those who are in need and to share all of our gifts with the broader community.
Lourdes University undergraduate student must complete a minimum of 20 service learning hours prior to graduation. For its commitment to service, Lourdes has three times been recognized as a member of the U.S. President’s Higher Education Community Honor Roll by the Corporation for National and Community Service.
