With a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree, you are prepared for a variety of advanced leadership roles in a variety of health care settings; and educational roles in nursing practice, staff development, and patient education programs.

Regardless of the MSN program you choose, you will benefit from the educational emphasis placed on nursing theory, research and practice that is consistent with national standards in nursing education. MSN Programs

  • Nurse Anesthesia Program – Complete your MSN degree in 28 months
  • Nurse Educator Program – Complete your MSN degree in eight semesters
  • Nurse Leader Program – Complete your MSN degree in seven semesters
  • RN to MSN Program – Bypass a Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree and receive your MSN

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

MSN Nurse Educator and Leader Programs Admission Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution with a minimum 2.75 cumulative GPA
  • Successful completion of undergraduate statistics and research course content
  • Request official college transcripts and have them sent to the Graduate School
  • Complete and submit the Graduate Application for Admission
  • Submit proof of a valid license as a registered nurse
  • Provide the names and contact information for three professional references
  • Complete a satisfactory interview with the MSN Director
  • Submit a current curriculum vitae or resume and statement of purpose. The statement of purpose (500 words) should answer the following:
    • Why you have chosen to pursue MSN with a concentration in Education or Leadership?
    • Why have you chosen to continue your nursing education at a faith based institution?
    • Why you have chosen Lourdes University?

RN to MSN Nurse Educator and Leader Programs Admission Requirements

Admission into the RN to MSN option is a two-step process. A conditional admission is given after completing and meeting the general admission requirements of the Graduate School. Admission into the Graduate School is offered after all Pre-R.N. to M.S.N. undergraduate courses are successfully completed with a 3.00 G.P.A. or better.

  • Graduate of a CNEA or ACEN accredited associate degree or diploma program in nursing. An applicant from an associate degree or diploma program in nursing that is not accredited by CNEA or ACEN may be conditionally admitted to the R.N. to M.S.N. program.
  • A current valid registered nurse license.
  • A minimum undergraduate Grade Point Average (GPA) of 2.75.
  • Request official college transcripts and have them sent to the Graduate School
  • Complete and submit the Graduate Application for Admission
  • Provide three letters of recommendation using the forms provided
  • Complete a satisfactory interview with the MSN Program Director
  • Submit a current curriculum vitae or resume and statement of purpose. The statement of purpose (500 words) should answer the following:
    • Why you have chosen to pursue MSN with a concentration in Education or Leadership?
    • Why have you chosen to continue your nursing education at a faith based institution?
    • Why you have chosen Lourdes University?
