Three marketing students completed internships this spring as part of the "Do It Now!" campaign for organ donation.

Designed by Donate Life Ohio and the Second Chance Trust Fund, the Do It Now! College Challenge was a competition that encouraged students throughout Ohio to obtain a grand total of 240,000 new organ and tissue donors.

As one of the 17 colleges and universities in Ohio selected to participate in Do It Now!, Lourdes empowered and educated individuals throughout Lucas County to become organ donors.

The Lourdes Do It Now! team was chaired by students Nicholas Carr, Abbie Crammond and Kelly Fox. As part of their marketing strategy, the trio conducted a flash mob demonstration on Brint Road in Sylvania, secured a kiosk to promote the campaign in the Westfield Mall, established a MySpace and Facebook page for their organization and held multiple events to raise awareness.

The Lourdes team received the award for the most effective alumni outreach component. "I am extremely proud of this group," offered Jean Kujawa, Associate Chair of Business. "Their work on this campaign was outstanding and demonstrated their marketing and advertising skills."
