Lourdes is an exciting place to be this summer. I invite you to come to campus to observe and be a part of our community. We enjoy sharing meals and conversations in our dining facility. The food is delicious and looking out the window at the beauty is both energizing and peaceful. Now that the weather has warmed up, we can also enjoy eating out on the patio.
One of my favorite parts about the academic year is participating in all the activities of commencement week. There are College and discipline celebrations that take place as well as our awards ceremony, baccalaureate and commencement.
We graduated a total of 379 students in the last 12 months. As the former Provost and now as President, it is a privilege to congratulate and welcome our newest alumni. The excitement and pride of our graduates is infectious as they celebrate with their loved ones and friends who helped them in their educational journey.
This summer we are getting ready for a busy 2012-2013 year. Academically, we are planning a first year experience course for all incoming first year students that will help them be more engaged and successful in their college life. There is also continued recruitment for our Gray Wolves athletic teams – which includes our inaugural year of softball.
This AtLourdes edition shares the accomplishments of our students, alumni, faculty and staff. You will learn firsthand about the programs and research our faculty have engaged in, the role our Franciscan values have in our institution and how our students and alumni are making a difference in many communities.
On behalf of the Lourdes Community, enjoy this latest edition and please know that you are always welcome to visit or return to campus.
