As we began a new academic year in August, the Lourdes College community was excited to welcome our new and returning students at orientation and convocation. We are now in the second year of our strategic plan and I am pleased to report that our students are now seeing the rewards of all the hard work of our faculty, staff, alumni, administration and board members.
During the summer months, Lourdes received approval for its Master of Arts in Theology degree program, the School of Nursing added an online option to its RN to BSN classes and our Department of Education began an innovative collaboration with the Sylvania Franciscan Academy. Other great news included The Chronicle of Higher Education naming Lourdes one of 2009's Great Colleges to Work For.®
Our students will continue to benefit from our returning and new faculty members including Dr. Dean Ludgwig, Chair of the Business & Leadership Studies program and Dr. Patrice McClellan, Chair of the Master of Organizational Leadership program.
We continue to expand our Student Life programming with the establishment of the Athletic Department. In this edition, you will be introduced to our new men's basketball and women's volleyball coaches as we begin to bring NAIA intercollegiate sports to Lourdes College.
Take a moment to review all the upcoming events scheduled on campus this fall. On behalf of the Lourdes College community, we look forward to seeing you this semester and we wish you a pleasant and enjoyable autumn season.
