St. Francis and the wolfThe Graduate School added to its list of programs with the addition of the Master of Arts in Theology degree this fall. With instructional fees for graduate study among the lowest in the area and a tuition rate that locks in upon enrollment, the College is pleased to offer this unique program.

"Our Master of Theology (MAT) is the only program of its kind within a 60-mile radius of Toledo," notes Sr. Shannon Schrein, OSF, PhD, Director. "The program has been thoughtfully designed and geared toward teaching students who wish to advance their knowledge of theology and who want to deepen their faith."

Rooted in the Catholic and Franciscan tradition, the MAT provides a solid theological grounding for individuals from a variety of Christian traditions. The program meets the demand for theological preparation especially for those individuals active in religious education, lay ministry and youth ministry.

The 36-credit hour program consists of 11 courses and a capstone seminar focusing on the study of biblical, historical, moral and systematic theology. The first cohort this fall and future cohorts are encouraged to develop strong research and critical thinking skills as well as an integrated theological vision.

The degree provides the foundation necessary for continued study toward a doctoral degree and to be a theological resource for others.
