New Student Orientation

In August each year, Lourdes University is excited to have you become a part of the Gray Wolves community. First Year Orientation is a 4-day, on-campus event specifically designed for students starting their first year at Lourdes University. Students enrolled in the First Year Experience course are required to participate in this new student orientation.

You must meet the following criteria to participate:

  • You are coming to Lourdes University directly from high school
  • You have earned 1–18 college credits either as a dual-enrolled, PSEO or transfer student from another college or university
  • You are 24 years of age or younger

Orientation Schedule

Orientation will be held from August 18 – 21. The FYE Experience book is “In the Sanctuary of Outcasts” by Neil White.

Day 1: Thursday, August 18

9:00 am: Residential student move in/check in, Residence Hall, Sylvan Square
1:15 pm: All student check in, Franciscan Center
2:00 pm: Convocation, Franciscan Center
4:15 pm: Orientation Team kick off, Franciscan Center
6:00 pm: Dinner, Dining Hall
7:00 pm: Residential & Commuter student meetings, Residence Halls, Sylvan Square
8:00 pm: Block party, Residence Halls, Sylvan Square

Day 2: Friday, August 19

7:30 am: Breakfast, Dining Hall
8:30 am: Service project (projects 9-12), Community Locations
12:30 pm: Lunch (Honors/Scholars meeting), Dining Hall
2:00 pm: Rotations (CSI, Campus Ministry reflection), ASC, Franciscan Center
3:00 pm: Title IX & Community Standards, Campus Safety, Franciscan Center
5:00 pm: Dinner and a book, Faculty and staff homes
9:00 pm: CloseUp Theater Troupe, Franciscan Center

Day 3: Saturday, August 20

8:00 am: Breakfast, Dining Hall
9:00 am: Diversity, Get Involved, Get Engaged and Get Invested!, Franciscan Center
10:15 am Pack Lunches, Dining Hall
11:15 am Depart for camp, Camp Michinoh

Day 4: Sunday, August 21

10:30 am: Mass, Queen of Peace Chapel
11:30 am: Brunch, Dining Hall
1:00 pm: Athletic physicals
3:00 pm: O Team group tour time, All Campus
4:00 pm: Placement Testing, ASC
5:00 pm: Dinner, Dining Hall
8:00 pm: Comedian Nick Guerra, Franciscan Center

Hotel Information

Parents looking for a place to stay as they move their student to campus are encouraged to arrange overnight accommodations at Wingate By Wyndham or Ramada Toledo. Each establishment offers Lourdes University Family and Friends rates all year long.

GRAY WOLF CONNECTIONS (Online Orientation)

Gray Wolf Connections is an online orientation for students who are transferring to Lourdes. Students are able to participate in an online orientation at their convenience, which details various departments, activities on-campus, important dates and more! Login information will be sent via postal mail prior to the start of classes.

You must meet the following criteria to participate:

  • You have earned over 19 college credit hours from another college or university
  • You are 24 years of age or older
