Vince Laverick, Ed.D.

Dr. Vince Laverick is an accomplished educator and scholar who has taught college-level and middle-childhood education for over a decade. He serves as Director of the Master of Education Program and Chair of the Education Division for the Lourdes University College of Social Sciences. Before his promotion, he served as Assistant Professor of Education and Faculty Athletic Representative.

Dr. Laverick brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the Master of Education in Special Education program. He has taught special education and upper-level inclusion courses and served on the Disability Advisory Committee of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA).

Dr. Laverick earned a Doctor of Education in Education (Ed.D.) and a Master of Arts (M.A.) in Educational Leadership and Administration from The University of Findlay and a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in English/Language Arts Teacher Education at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay where he also played for the men’s soccer team.

A champion of lifelong learning, he holds several Quality Matters certifications designed to support quality assurance goals in online learning. In the summer of 2019, he was tapped as an inaugural iWolf Power of Innovative Learning Program faculty member who will integrate technology into selected first-year courses.

An educator in the classroom and on the field, he is a Coach for the Ohio Youth Soccer Association North, where he teaches USSF “D” and “E” license courses and is the head coach of a state team. Additional athletic appointments include Region II Staff and Age Group Coach for the US Soccer Region II.

Dr. Laverick holds three certifications through the Ohio Department of Education and has earned Director of Coaching and Premier Diplomas through the National Soccer Coaches Association of America. His professional affiliations include Penta Career Center Advisory Board Member, Content Advisory Committee Member for English Language Arts, and Peer Reviewer positions with Quality Matters and the Mid-Western Educational Research Association.

Well respected in his profession, Dr. Laverick has published articles in The Ohio Journal of Teacher Education, The Online Journal of New Horizons in Education, American Secondary Education, and the Soccer Journal. A sought-after regional, state, national, and international expert, he has recently presented at the Interchanges: Transatlantic Conference on Education, Research, and Community Engagement in Renvyle County Galway, Ireland.
