Global Learning: Israel Program
Offered during the 2015 summer session, the Israel study abroad experience allows 14 students to travel to Jerusalem, a city sacred to Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. During the 5-week course, students will spend the first 3 weeks in the classroom learning various approaches to religious studies, as well as, an introduction to the three major monotheistic religions in preparation for their 2-week immersion experience.
The program fee of $4150 plus three or six credits of tuition* will include payment toward:
- classroom and library use
- field trip admissions, guide and transportation
- round trip airfare and transfers
- 3 meals per day
* Estimated cost; subject to change. Interested students must complete the application process and be accepted to the program before registering for the courses.
The curriculum is centered on the study of religion. Two courses of three semester hours each are required of all participants. Courses include THS 101 and THS 246.
Students study and live at the Tantur Ecumenical Institute in Jerusalem, with a two-night additional stay in Galilee, and one night/evening at Nahsholim—a Mediterranean beach resort.
