Four leaders join Lourdes University Board of Trustees
Lourdes University president Mary Ann Gawelek, Ed.D., is pleased to announce the appointment of four new members to its board of trustees –Bibiana Boerio, Maureen M. Kenney, Michael S. Koralewski and Hussien Shousher.
“It is an honor to welcome these outstanding individuals. Their expertise in the fields of higher education, government relations, and the automotive and energy industries will serve Lourdes University well,” adds Dr. Gawelek.
Bibiana Boerio has a diverse international background including positions as a Senior Automotive and Financial Services Executive, Chief of Staff for a member of the U.S. House of Representatives, and Interim President of Seton Hill University. During her tenure at Ford Motor Company, Ms. Boerio served in corporate finance and strategy, and global marketing and operations. As Managing Director for Jaguar Cars, Ltd., she was based in Warwickshire, England. She also served as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for Ford Motor Credit Company.
Ms. Boerio earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Textiles and Design, In Honors from Seton Hill University and a Master of Business Administration degree in Accounting and Finance from the Katz Graduate School of Business at the University of Pittsburgh. She currently serves as a volunteer trustee on the boards and councils for a number of educational and community service organizations. Nominated by U.S. President Barack Obama to serve as Director of the U.S. Mint, she was also named the 2005 Harper and Chanel Businesswoman of the Year in the UK and a Distinguished Daughter of Pennsylvania.
Maureen M. Kenney is a recognized leader in the northwest Ohio region. The General Partner of Carelink Nursing Services, she owns and operates this home health care company. Previously, she was Vice President of Clinical Operations for Health Care Solutions and a Marketing Representative at Toledo Hospital.
A member of the St. Francis de Sales High School Board of Trustees, she has also served as a Board Member for Kids Unlimited and volunteered in several leadership roles for St. Ursula Academy. Ms. Kenney received a Bachelor of Science degree from St. Mary’s College in Notre Dame, IN and a Master of Science in Nursing degree from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. Ms. Kenney and her husband Patrick reside in Sylvania. They have four children. Together they enjoy travel, skiing, fly fishing and spending time in northern Michigan.
Michael S. Koralewski is the current Senior Vice President of Global Manufacturing for First Solar, Inc. He has been with the company since 2006 and has also held the roles of Vice President – Site Operations for the Perrysburg location and Vice President Global Quality Reliability. Prior to joining First Solar, Mr. Koralewski was employed by Dana Corporation where he served as Director of Quality for their Commercial Vehicle Business Unit along with a variety of quality functions throughout different business units during his tenure with the company.
A graduate of Toledo Central Catholic High School, he earned a Bachelor of Science in Engineering degree from Case Western Reserve University and a Master of Business Administration degree from Bowling Green State University. Mr. Koralewski currently serves as a Board Member of the Ohio Foundation of Independent Colleges and an Executive Board Member of Imagination Station.
Hussien Shousher is the former CEO of GEM Inc. and GEM Energy, having worked with the Rudolph Libbe Group of companies for more than 25 years. He started his 35+ year-career in the construction industry as a Project Engineer for Texaco in Port Arthur, TX. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from The University of Toledo.
Mr. Shousher is a current Board Member of the Toledo Community Foundation and Sunshine Community. Past board and community appointments include Board Member for Rudolph Libbe Companies, Inc.; Chair of the Foundation of the Islamic Center of Greater Toledo, Inc.; Development Committee Member of the Toledo Community Foundation; Chair of the Center for Arab American Philanthropy; and former Chair of the Toledo Opera.
