First Year Orientation

Welcome Gray Wolves! We are excited to have you become a part of the Lourdes community. First Year Orientation is a 4-day, on-campus event specifically designed for students starting their first year at Lourdes University. Students enrolled in the First Year Experience course are required to participate in this new student orientation. You must meet the following criteria to participate:

  • You are coming to Lourdes University directly from high school
  • You have earned 1–18 college credits either as a dual-enrolled, PSEO or transfer student from another college or university
  • You are 24 years of age or younger

Day 1—Thursday, August 20

  • 9:00 a.m. Residential Check In at The Lourdes Commons
  • 1:15 p.m. All Student Check In at The Franciscan Center
  • 2:00 p.m. Convocation at The Franciscan Center
  • 3:00 p.m. Farewell Reception at The Franciscan Center
  • 4:00 p.m. Orientation Team Kick Off at The Franciscan Center
  • 5:30 p.m. Dinner at The Franciscan Center
  • 6:30 p.m. Residential & Commuter, Student Meetings at The Lourdes Commons: Residence Halls or Outdoor Courts
  • 7:00 p.m. Welcome Party (Sponsored by Res Life) at The Den at Lourdes Commons

Day 2—Friday, August 21

  • 8:00 a.m. Breakfast at The Grille
  • 9:00 a.m. Rotation 1: College Student Inventory, Title IX, Diversity Matters at various campus locations
  • 10:50 a.m. Lunch
  • 12:00 p.m. Service Project in the Greater Toledo Area
  • 4:00 p.m. Speed Networking at the Franciscan Center
  • 5:00 p.m. Cookout with Academic Deans
  • 7:15 p.m. Reflection at the Franciscan Center
  • 8:00 p.m. CloseUp Theatre Troupe at the Franciscan Center

Day 3—Saturday, August 22

  • 8:00 a.m. Breakfast at The Grille
  • 9:00 a.m. Rotation 2: Campus Safety & Community Standards, Technology, Make a Presence at various campus locations
  • 10:45 a.m. Bag Lunch on Bus at The Grille
  • 11:15 a.m. Depart for Camp Michindoh!

Day 4—Sunday, August 23

  • 10:30 a.m. Mass at The Queen of Peace Chapel
  • 11:30 a.m. Brunch at The Grille
  • 1:00 p.m. Athletic Physicals, check with your coach
  • 8:00 p.m. ThinkFast Game Show at The Franciscan Center

Gray Wolf Connections (Online Orientation)

Gray Wolf Connections is an online orientation for students who are transferring to Lourdes. Students are able to participate in an online orientation at their convenience, which details various departments, activities on-campus, important dates and more! Login information will be sent via postal mail prior to the start of classes. Bring the certificate of completion to the Ebeid Student Center for a welcome packet. You must meet the following criteria to participate:

  • You have earned over 19 college credit hours from another college or university
  • You are 24 years of age or older
