Professional Development

Lourdes University offers educators quality professional development opportunities. Professional Development Courses are post-baccalaureate classes and can be used for relicensure (Ohio), certification renewal or upgrade (Michigan), and additional endorsements. Participants desiring postgraduate credit must possess a valid or expired teaching license or certificate. These courses are scheduled throughout the year and are held on the Lourdes University campus in Sylvania, alternate locations, and online.

These post-baccalaureate courses cannot be used towards a Master’s degree at Lourdes University. Participants interested in transferring the credits earned by taking Professional Development courses to graduate degrees at other institutions should obtain approval from the institution to which the credits will be transferred in advance of registration.

Lourdes University Education Department also offers professional development to school districts, buildings, or departments to support district goals in the area of professional development. Our faculty will design professional development to meet the needs of your faculty. Lourdes University believes that effective professional development should take place over a period of time and be incorporated into the classroom in order to allow teachers to have time to assess and reflect on the effectiveness of the professional development in regards to student learning.
