Dawn of the Space Age

May 12, 19 and June 2
7:30 p.m.

Experience the excitement of the early days of space exploration in "Dawn of the Space Age", from the launch of the first artificial satellite Sputnik, to the magnificent lunar landings, to today's International Space Station. This computer-animated odyssey puts viewers in the cockpits of the first manned space missions and on the lunar surface with the Apollo astronauts.

Dawn of the Space Age begins with the launch of Sputnik and the beginnings of the Space Race. It includes a visual tour of important Russian space history as well as the American Gemini, Apollo and Shuttle programs. Along the way are glimpses of the Viking mission to Mars and the Voyager mission to the outer planets. The film also takes you to the International Space Station, the "X-prize" winning private space ship and on to future Mars exploration. Be immersed and overwhelmed with this most accurate historic reconstruction of Man's first steps into space. With increasing international cooperation and commercial spaceflight, we are now on the brink of a new dawn of the space age!
