Congratulations on your scholarship! As indicated in your award letter, your scholarship is contingent upon successfully completing a thank you letter to the donor within 14 days of scholarship award notification. Failure to do so will result in loss of the scholarship.  Follow 2 simple steps to complete the process:

1. Write the thank you letter addressed “To Whom It May Concern”. For samples and guidelines, see below.
2. Return your letter within 14 days (as of your original award letter date) to:
   Lourdes University
   Denise McCluskey, Director of Financial Aid
   6832 Convent Blvd.
   Sylvania, OH 43560

Remember, you are representing yourself and Lourdes University, who has secured these scholarship funds on your behalf. A donor will appreciate the time and effort it took to produce an attractive, well-written letter. Thank you for the time you are investing!

Thank You Letter Guidelines

• Use quality paper or stationary. No torn-out loose leaf or notebook paper.
• Do not seal your letter in an envelope. All letters will be sent in a Lourdes University envelope.
• Use your best penmanship. If your handwriting is illegible, please type your letter.
• Address the letter to: To Whom it May Concern
• Be sincere. Briefly tell your scholarship sponsor why the aid you are receiving is important to you and/or your family.
• Express gratitude. Use the words thank you.
• Be accurate. Have someone you trust check your note for correct spelling and grammar.
• Be sensitive to your sponsor’s beliefs. Don’t use your letter to evangelize.
• Enclose a good photo of yourself, if you wish.

I love Lourdes and am so proud to be a Gray Wolf! Obtaining a bachelors degree in [NAME MAJOR] has been a life goal of mine and I am very fortunate to be a student at Lourdes pursuing this dream. I have very much enjoyed my time in the classroom learning from very dedicated faculty as well as the nurturing I have received through other student services such as [INVOLVEMENT IN STUDENT LIFE, MISSION AND MINISTRY, ACADEMIC SUPPORT FROM THE WIN CENTER, ETC.]

I wish to thank those who so generously made the [NAME OF SCHOLARSHIP] available to myself and other students who have received this scholarship. Through the support of the [NAME OF SCHOLARSHIP], I am well on my way to achieving my academic goals and hope that with my degree, I will be able to make a difference for others in a way as meaningful as the [NAME OF SCHOLARSHIP] has for me.
