WAVE: Women, Artists, Visionaries, Entrepreneurs
8th Annual Celebration of Women Festival
Saturday, March 28, 2014
11 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Franciscan Center Commons, Lourdes
6832 Convent Blvd., Sylvania, OH 43560
Lourdes celebrates National Women’s History Month by recognizing the diversity and vision of area women artists and business women. This celebration of women festival is an indoor exhibition and sale of fine arts, crafts and other creative expressions.
The WAVE Festival originated as a way to celebrate the successes and accomplishments of women throughout the local community. In the spirit of our Franciscan values, we embrace the civic communities whom we engage, celebrating the many talents of our participants, and welcome the visitors who come to our campus. In conjunction with the annual recognition of March as Women’s History Month, we are pleased to bring together talented artists, craftswomen, and performers for the afternoon. It is our hope that the experience will not only impress and delight you, but empower you as well. Proceeds will benefit a local women's charity.
Lourdes, the only higher education institution currently in Northwest Ohio that began as a women only college, is proud to host the festival. Founded by Mother Adelaide and the Sisters of St. Francis fifty-four years ago, Lourdes embraces its history and the spirit in which we continue to recognize and honor women who not only have shaped our past, but will influence our future. For more information contact Marisol Strelow at 419-824-3871 or email@example.com.
The W.A.V.E Festival Committee choose Bethany House as the beneficiary of the 7th annual festival. Bethany House is a local women's shelter and sponsored ministry of the Sisters of St. Francis of Sylvania, Ohio and is member of Sylvania Franciscan Health system.
In past years WAVE has supported Aurora House, Second Chance, Women Blessing Women, Harbor House and many others.
