Lourdes University is committed to providing alternatives and options for students with disabilities to ensure that University resources are as accessible as possible. We strive to maintain web pages that meet Section 508 guidelines for web accessibility. Section 508 requires that individuals with disabilities have access to and use of information and data that is comparable to that provided to individuals without disabilities, without placing an undue burden on the University.
- PDF Files: Adobe has improved the accessibility features of their Acrobat software, and offers resources to improve access to PDF files. Please consult the Accessibility Resources on Adobe.com.
- Images: Images are marked with an "alt" attribute with a basic description of the image to assist visitors using a screen reader.
- CSS: the University website uses Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) for layout, font style, font size, colors, and other stylistic elements. HTML tables are used for data tables, as well as to aid in layout of HTML forms.
