Patricia K. O’Connell, Ph.D.

Dr. Pat O’Connell has been Associate Professor of Graduate Leadership Studies at Lourdes University in Sylvania, Ohio since 2001. Her academic and research focus is leadership and organizational development. She holds a B.S. in Business from Miami University; M.B.A. in Marketing and Ph.D. in Educational Psychology and Human Resources Development from University of Toledo. Dr. O’Connell began her career in marketing research at NFO Research, where she served as Vice President Information Systems, and Vice President Interviewing Services. As President of her own consulting firm, then Principal with Frank Lynn & Associates in Chicago, she has worked with businesses and social service agencies in every industry to facilitate strategic planning processes and build high performance leadership teams.

During her time as chair, Dr. O’Connell focused on:

  1. Creating a campus-wide shared meaning of Franciscan leadership and Franciscan leader development.
  2. Infusing her 21st Century Leader Development Framework into the BUS 259 Supervision course.
  3. Working with the Sisters of St. Francis and the Sylvania Franciscan Village to offer a Franciscan Lecture to be held in February 2013.
