History Of Lourdes Service Learning
Service learning has been part of Lourdes’ academic programs since the late 1990s.
Lourdes received funding through Ohio Campus Compact and became a Host Site for an AmeriCorps VISTA Service Leader.
In the Fall of 2002, the Office of Service Learning was created to foster the development of additional projects and to continue alliances with community institutions such as Helping Hands of St. Louis, Bethany House, Sylvania Area Family Services, Cherry Street Mission, Beach House and many others.
Select academic programs began to integrate Service Learning requirements into their curriculum.
Service learning became a requirement for all undergraduate students.
