Evelyn Campbell Endowed Scholarship for Non-traditional Students
This year we had the pleasure of awarding an Associate of Art degree to Evelyn Campbell.
Evelyn attended Lourdes in the late ‘80’s and was working towards her Bachelor of Arts degree in Art. She was a non-traditional student who had raised her children, put them through school and decided she wanted to pursue a degree herself. As many non-traditional students understand, sometimes life’s twists and turns get in the way. This happened for Evelyn and she was unable to complete her degree.
Knowing that his mother is nearly 90 years old and her biggest regret was not completing a degree, Evelyn’s son, Craig, reached out to Lourdes to see what Evelyn would need to complete a degree. Upon further research, it was determined that Evelyn had completed enough credits to earn an Associate of Arts degree in Art.
In August 2013, Lourdes had the honor of awarding Evelyn Campbell this degree with honors.
Evelyn and her family decided they would like to give other non-traditional students the opportunity to achieve their dreams and have established the Evelyn Campbell Endowed Scholarship for Non-traditional Students. We are looking to our alumni to support this scholarship.
