Lourdes Nurse Anesthesia Program Celebrates
A Decade of Dedication
Nurse Anesthesia Program Legacy Fund
On the 10th Anniversary of this dynamic program, Lourdes University has established the Nurse Anesthesia Program Legacy Fund.
Gifts made to this fund will directly benefit the continued program development and increase the scholarship opportunities for enrolled students.
Our goal is to raise $25,000 to endow the fund and ensure its continued benefit to the Nurse Anesthesia Program is long-lasting.
Why Supporting the Nurse Anesthesia Program Fund is critical
The funds that scholarship aid provides enables me to cover my tuition costs and school expenses throughout my program. I hope one day I will be able to invest in future students and help them in their studies just as the aid I received did for me.”
– Ronnya Peter ‘21

Critical Role of Lourdes Program
Lourdes Nurse Anesthesia Program is the only one of its kind within our region. It offers the unique opportunity to draw talent from across the country as well as keep talent in our region that is already here. The graduates that emerge from this program fill vital roles in not only our major city healthcare systems, but especially in the many rural communities in our region.
Where Our Graduates Are Impacting Communities
The Lourdes University Nurse Anesthesia Program has consistently maintained a 100% employment rate. These successful graduates are employed in more than 20 locations across the US Midwest and East Coast.
Economic Importance of CRNAs to Ohioans
- A recent study demonstrated that anesthesia care provided by a CRNA is the most cost-effective method of anesthesia care delivery1. This helps to decrease the cost of delivering healthcare.
- CRNAs are the least costly type of anesthesia provider to employ and educate.
- CRNAs provide the majority of rural anesthesia in the state of Ohio.
- Ohio has 34 critical access hospitals (CAHs), typically located in rural, medically underserved areas in Ohio. More than half of these hospitals employ CRNAs as the sole anesthesia providers. Of the 88 counties in Ohio, 14 counties have CRNAs as the sole providers of anesthesia. This allows patients in rural and medically underserved areas to have access to affordable, high quality anesthesia care. 1Hogan PF, Seifert RF, Moore CS, Simonson BE.
