Endowed Chairs and Professorships
Endowed Chairs
An Endowed Chair is one of the highest honors bestowed on a university professor. It is awarded in recognition of contributions to their academic discipline. An endowed chair also may provide funding to support the professor’s teaching, research, service and programs. In addition, a student scholarship may also be funded.
Lourdes University’s Endowed Chairs allow us to secure the most highly qualified faculty, who seek to work with equally accomplished peers and to be supported by an institution with an established commitment to their teaching.
Each Endowed Chair bears the name of the donor or other honoree. Donors receive regular communications from the appointed faculty member as well as financial reports on their fund.

Endowed Professorships
An Endowed Professorship is an academic appointment that is made possible fully or in part by the income of an endowment. It provides backing in perpetuity by guaranteeing critical support to the school’s best faculty. Professorship funds cover both the faculty member’s salary and research-related expenses. In addition, a student scholarship may also be funded.
Each endowed faculty appointment bears the name of the donor or other honoree. Donors receive regular communications from the appointed faculty member, as well as financial reports about the financial reports on their fund.
