Honors Program Application

The program director and the Honors Council reviews applications as they are received. If accepted, applicants become members of the Honors Program beginning the following semester.

Incoming Freshmen
Prospective, direct-from-high-school students must:

  • Complete the Honors Program Application, including the application essay.
  • Submit two letters of recommendation, preferably from individuals who can describe the student’s academic abilities. Electronic copies of the letters can be attached to the application form or sent under separate cover to honors@lourdes.edu.
  • Place into college-level English and Math as determined by SAT/ACT scores or Accuplacer.
  • Engage in an application interview if needed.

For best consideration for fall first-year admission, applications should be submitted by July 31 , 2024.

Current or Transfer Students
Prospective current students follow the same procedure as incoming first-year students.

  • Please respond to the following prompt with an essay of 400-600 words:

    Imagine you are backpacking through a foreign country. Because you want to engage with the local population, you have brought three items in your backpack that will help them learn about your culture and worldview. Apart from your smartphone, what three items have you chosen, and how do they represent these aspects of you?
