Nurse Educator (MSN):
Graduates of the Nurse Educator concentration are prepared to function as generalists to teach in a variety of educational roles in nursing practice, including undergraduate nursing educational programs, professional development programs, and patient education. The successful completion of the Nurse Educator concentration prepares graduates to sit for the Certified Nurse Educator exam offered by the National League of Nursing or the Nursing Professional Development exam offered by American Nurses Credentialing Center. In field practice requirements apply to some exams. The Nurse Educator concentration includes core content in nursing theory, trends in nursing, evidence-based practice, statistics, health care policy, role development, ethics, diversity, and nursing informatics.
Nurse Leader (MSN):
Graduates of the Nurse Leader concentration are prepared to function in advanced leadership roles in a variety of health care settings. The successful completion of the Nurse Leader concentration prepares graduates, after meeting practice requirements, to take the Nurse Executive Certification exam or the Nurse Executive, Advanced exam credential offered by American Nurses Credentialing Center. The Nurse Leader concentration includes core content in nursing theory, trends in nursing, evidence-based practice, statistics, health care policy, role development, ethics, diversity, and nursing informatics.
