Lourdes provides the following information to guide high school dual enrollment students through the admissions process.

Overview

Lourdes University provides several opportunities to earn college credit through our dual enrollment program.

The Lourdes Dual Enrollment program offers Ohio and Southern Michigan high school students the opportunity to earn college credit while in high school that later can be applied to a Lourdes undergraduate degree or transferred to another college or university of the student’s choice.

Accredited by the state of Ohio and the Higher Learning Commission, Lourdes University offers an excellent education – one that works well with high school students looking to jump start their college education.

REQUIREMENTS FOR ADMISSION

  • 3.0 cumulative GPA (this is a Lourdes requirement)
  • Testing is not required. However to take some courses you may be requested to take an accuplacer test
  • Counselor Approval
  • Intent to Participate form at your high school (CCP)

PRIORITY APPLICATION DEADLINES

  • Summer: April 15
  • Fall: June 15
  • Spring: November 15

Ohio’s College Credit Plus (CCP)

Ohio’s College Credit Plus (CCP)

Earn college and high school credits at the same time by taking college courses. Free for public school students who wish to attend a public Ohio university or college. There may be fees for homeschooled students or students that wish to attend a private university or college.

Please note, if student is homeschooled and/or attends a private school they MUST submit the CCP Funding Application by April 1st by 5:00 pm. Homeschooled and/or private school students MUST submit a copy of the funding award letter to enroll in class. To submit the CCP Funding Application click HERE.

Lourdes High School Scholars Admission

This program provides introductory college credit courses for high school students who choose not to enroll in the College Credit Plus program.

This program is ideal for the following high school students:

  • Michigan residents looking to earn college credits
  • Students attending private or Catholic high schools looking to earn college credit
  • Homeschool students in Ohio and Michigan

Lourdes University appoints qualified instructors in selected public and private high schools as adjunct instructors. These instructors offer courses in the high schools as extensions of the particular Lourdes University academic department. As adjunct faculty members, these instructors receive support and supervision from the appropriate Lourdes University academic department.

Dual Enrollment Application Instructions

Applying for the Lourdes University Dual Enrollment program is easy. Follow the steps listed below to apply.

STEP 1: DUAL ENROLLMENT APPLICATION

Fill out the Lourdes Dual Enrollment Application and indicate your student type.

  • College Credit Plus for Ohio students
  • High School Scholars for Michigan, Home School, Private School, and Catholic School students

STEP 2: COUNSELOR MATERIALS

An email will automatically be sent to your high school guidance counselor, requesting a copy of your transcript and a Counselor Connect Form.

STEP 3: ADMISSIONS DECISION

Upon review of your transcript and Counselor Connect Form, you and your parent/guardian will receive an email with your admissions decision.

STEP 4: STUDENT/PARENT AGREEMENT FORMS, RELEASE FORM

Complete the Student/Parent Agreement Form, Release Form, CCP Parent Permission, and CCP Student Questionnaire that you will receive via email.

STEP 5: ACT/SAT SCORES, ACCUPLACER

Send your ACT/SAT scores (if taken); otherwise, schedule to take the Accuplacer, free of charge at Lourdes by contacting asc@lourdes.edu or 419-824-3748.

STEP 6: COURSE REGISTRATION

Be sure to discuss your interests with your high school guidance counselor to ensure that you will meet your high school graduation requirements. You will receive an email when it is time to register for your course(s)!

STEP 7: ORDER YOUR BOOK(S)

Once you’ve registered, you will have a *book voucher added to your account. (*In most cases, your school or the CCP program pays for your books!) You will receive an email when your account is ready, and you can order your book(s) through the Lourdes University Online Bookstore.

Admissions Requirements

Lourdes University offers high school students admission requirements for the Dual Enrollment program.

REQUIREMENTS FOR LOURDES UNIVERSITY DUAL ENROLLMENT PROGRAM

  • 3.0 GPA
  • Students who do not meet required GPA are advised to take an accuplacer test. Once the test is taken, the student will go through a review process to determine entrance and acceptance under a probationary period to the Lourdes Dual Enrollment Program.

HIGH SCHOOL SCHOLAR APPLICANTS FROM MICHIGAN HIGH SCHOOLS SHOULD CONSULT WITH THEIR GUIDANCE COUNSELOR ON REQUIRED GPA FOR LOURDES DUAL ENROLLMENT PROGRAM.

Courses, Books, and Web Access

Lourdes University is pleased to share the Dual Enrollment program specifics for high school students and their families.

Course Options

Books and Supplies

To obtain your books for your course(s), go to the Lourdes University Online Bookstore and “Shop Textbooks by Course.” Enter your course information. Under the “Payment Option,” you should see a box to check that uses your High School’s account to purchase.

Lourdes will then bill the high school.

Student Web Access

Upon registration, students will receive multiple Welcome Emails with important login information sent to the email provided on their application. Students will be given access to their Lourdes email, student portal, and Canvas course site. Be sure to check the spam/other folder if you do not see them in your inbox.

Bedford / Lourdes Scholars Program

Through Lourdes University’s High School Scholars Program, we are pleased to work with Bedford High School counselors in offering eligible high school students a Nursing Dual Enrollment Program.

Nursing Pathway

Through the Bedford High School / Lourdes University partnership, Bedford High School students can explore and learn more about the Lourdes University Nursing programs. Through the dual enrollment agreement, Bedford High School students can:

  • Earn 36 Lourdes University college credit hours before high school graduation
  • Complete college level courses at Bedford during sophomore and junior years
  • Complete college level courses at Lourdes during senior year in high school
  • Get a guaranteed spot in the Lourdes University Bachelor of Science in Nursing program
  • Participate in campus tours tailored to their academic interest
  • Attend Nursing Summer Camps at Lourdes University
  • Achieve their BSN degree in just 3.5 years
