Direct From High School: Applying for enrollment at Lourdes University directly after high school graduation.

New: Someone with no prior college who has been out of high school for more than three months and who is under 25 years of age.

Transfer: Students who have attended another college/university prior to Lourdes University, regardless of credit hours passed or program major. Students who took dual enrollment courses through a college or university while in high school who have no additional college enrollment after high school graduation would not be transfer students.

Adult: Students 25 years of age and older who have never attended a college or university prior to Lourdes University, regardless of credit hours passed or program major.

Guest or Transient: If you are currently attending another institution and would like to take courses at Lourdes to transfer back to your home institution, you are a Guest (or Transient) student.

Re-Admit: A former Lourdes student who has not attended Lourdes for more than two years.

Non-degree: If you want to take courses for credit, but are not interested in earning a degree from Lourdes University, you are considered a non-degree student.

Admission Requirements

First-Year Admission

Entrance into Lourdes University requires either:

  • An earned diploma from an accredited high school
  • A homeschool program in a college preparatory course of study
  • GED certificate

The faculty recommends the following:

  • Four units of English
  • Three units of mathematics
  • Three units of social studies (including one in history)
  • Three units of science
  • Two units of foreign language

The following documents are used in evaluating candidates for first-year admission:

  • High school GPA and class rank
  • Optional ACT (American College Test) or SAT (Scholastic Aptitude Test) scores.
  • Lourdes University is proud of our test-optional admissions policy. Submission of ACT or SAT scores for incoming undergraduate student applicants is optional. Learn more.
  • Other indicators of potential for academic success as documented in the application
  • Optional letters of recommendation and personal statements will be examined for students with a GPA below 2.75.

Homeschooled students who have completed their high school program and are seeking admission to Lourdes University must submit a home-generated transcript of their courses (with grades). Admission to Lourdes University will be decided on an individual basis, taking into account the high school curriculum pursued and the grades achieved. As with other direct-from-high-school students, ACT or SAT scores are required.

Adult and Transfer Students

The following documents are used in evaluating candidates for adult and transfer admission:

  • Official transcripts from all previously attended colleges. Note: students with less than 12 college semester hours (18 quarter hours) are required to submit official high school transcripts or GED along with official transcripts from all previously attended colleges.
  • An official high school transcript or GED must be submitted if the applicant has only attended a non-regionally accredited college/university.
  • Optional ACT or SAT scores if available. Certain programs (e.g., nursing, education, and pre-professional programs) may utilize additional criteria.
  • Lourdes University is proud of our test-optional admissions policy. Submission of ACT or SAT scores for incoming undergraduate student applicants is optional.
