As a country, Peru faces widespread poverty and a health care system struggling to keep up with its population growth. During their stay in Peru, the Lourdes mission team provided care to more than 600 individuals, including children at an area orphanage and many groups of school children.
For those at Lourdes, spring break is a time of purpose. Each year, the community spends this time serving others throughout the world.
As the largest surface freshwater system on the Earth, the Great Lakes provide 84 percent of North America's fresh water supply and 20 percent of the world's. The Great Lakes also offer irreplaceable economic wealth to the region.

Since 1996, Lourdes Habitat for Humanity teams have assisted homeowners in seven states and 12 cities. Their projects have included rehabbing houses, building homes and bringing the spirit of volunteerism and Franciscan values to those in need.
