Lourdes University is committed to being part of the Sylvania community. In 2015, Lourdes began a partnership with Sylvania Schools athletics that continues to this day. This partnership created an opportunity for student athletes from both Sylvania Schools and Lourdes University to have a home for their athletic teams, while continuing their studies.

“At Lourdes, part of our mission is reverence and service to others. We stress the importance of taking care of and respecting our community to all our student-athletes,” says Vice President of Athletics Janet Eaton-Smith. “I think our partnership with Sylvania Schools only strengthens that relationship for both our Gray Wolf students and student-athletes and students who are part of Sylvania Schools. It also lends a chance for the Sylvania community to support students who choose to continue their educational careers in their hometown.”

In 2021, the Lourdes Softball team played their first season at their new home, the Lourdes/Northview Athletic complex. First opened in 2015, this shared complex also features an outdoor stadium for lacrosse and soccer teams. This marked a huge milestone giving Gray Wolf athletes a home field in walking distance of campus.

Lourdes University is home to 25 teams and a member of both the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) and the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA).
