Flu Vaccines

Flu vaccines are now available at the Lourdes University Health Clinic!!  Flu vaccines cause antibodies to develop in the body about 2 weeks after vaccination.  These antibodies provide protection against infection with the viruses that are in the vaccine. The seasonal flu vaccine protects against the influenza viruses that research indicates will be most common during the upcoming season. The single best way to protect against the flu is to get vaccinated each year and to do so by the end of October. Influenza activity begins to increase in October and November and peaks between December and January and can last as late as May.  Getting vaccinated later, however, can still be beneficial and the clinic will continue to offer the vaccination. We are offering the Quadrivalent vaccine which will provide protection against 2 influenza A viruses and 2 influenza B viruses with broader protection with both B viruses included in the vaccine. Students and faculty can walk in to the Lourdes University Health Clinic anytime between 12 and 6 Monday thru Friday. For more information
