Sigma: Global Nursing Excellence (Nursing Honorary)

The purpose of the Sigma Nursing Honor Society is to recognize superior achievement, develop nurse leaders to improve healthcare everywhere, foster high professional standards, encourage creative work, and strengthen commitment to the ideals and purposes of the profession.

Student Qualification (since September 1, 2018-present) specifics are as follows:

Undergrad students-

  • 3.0 cumulative GPA minimum
  • Top 35% of their class
  • At least half of curriculum/program completed
  • Meet the expectation of academic integrity

RN students-

  • 3.0 cumulative GPA minimum
  • Top 35% of their class
  • At least half of the curriculum/program completed and at least 12 credit hours at their current school
  • Meet the expectation of academic integrity.

Graduate students-

  • 3.5 cumulative GPA minimum
  • At least one-fourth of the curriculum/program completed
  • Meet the expectation of academic integrity

Note: Students in graduate programs who are registered nurses, legally recognized to practice in their country and have a minimum of a baccalaureate degree or the equivalent in any field, shall be eligible to be considered as a Nurse Leader at any point in the program.
